Going into today’s finals, here are the team leaders and state championship performances thus far at Georgia Olympics 2016.

Class A – Private

GHSA Boys Track & Field Championships: Day 2

Jefferson, GA- Day 2 of the GHSA Boys State Track Meet crowned individual state champions for the 3200 meter run, while the preliminary runs were completed for eight more events; (4×100 meter relay, 400 meter dash, 110 meter high hurdles, 800 meter run, 200 meter dash, 300 meter hurdles and 4×400 meter relay.

GHSA Boys Track & Field Championships: Day 1

Jefferson, GA– With only brief weather delays, Day 1 of the GHSA Boys Track & Field Championships crowned individual state titles in pole vault, shot put, discus, long lump, triple jump, high jump and the 1600 meter run.

The top performance of the day came on the field in Class AAAAAA with Campbell’s Isaiah Rogers. Rogers broke a 50-year-old shot put state record with a toss of 67-10.00, passing Chip Kell’s mark

GHSA Boys Track & Field Championship Preview

Three first-time champions (Rockdale County, Cedar Grove, Terrell County) and a first-ever outright title by Greater Atlanta Christian in Class AA penned an unexpected narrative at last year’s state meet. GHSA Girls Track Championships: Final Results

The GHSA Girls Track & Field Championships at Albany concluded Saturday with three successful title defenses, one first time state crown and McEachern, Monroe-Albany and Greater Atlanta Christian returning to the podium to end their respective state title droughts. (See Complete Results Below)

Class AAAAAA saw McEachern run away with its first state title since a back-to-back triumph in 1998-99. The Indians opened Saturday with a first-place finish in the 4×100 relay

GHSA Girls Track Championships: Day 2 Summary

Day 2 of the GHSA Girls Track & Field Championships in Albany saw more champions crowned. Field event finals for Class A-Public, A-Private, AAAA and AAAAAA all took place in the early part of the day.

In the Discus Throw, Chelsea Igberaese of Dacula tossed a 142-00 to win the Class AAAAAA title. First Presbyterian’s Maggie Johnston crushed the field with her 144-05 throw in the Class A-Private championship.
