GHSA investigates eligibility of Grayson football star

The Georgia High School Association is investigating the eligibility of a star football player on Grayson’s state-championship football team.

Kurt Taylor, a running back who has signed with Michigan, transferred to Grayson for his senior season

Six Georgia baseball teams ranked in MaxPreps’ top 25 nationally

There’s more proof that Georgia is as much a baseball state as anything else in sports.

Six Georgia baseball teams are ranked are ranked among the top 25 nationally of MaxPreps’ computer rankings.

Here is the list:

5. Allatoona
7. Blessed Trinity
11. North Gwinnett
16. Cartersville
23. Parkview
24. Walton

Here’s a brief look at each.

No. 5 Allatoona is 13-2 with wins over Parkview and the No. 1-ranked Class AAAAA team, Starr’s Mill. Senior center fielder/pitcher Kyle

Title game previews: Norcross-Tift (boys), Norcross-McEachern (girls)

The Class AAAAAAA basketball finals are Saturday Georgia Tech’s McCamish Pavilion.

The Norcoss-McEachern girls game is at 6 p.m., and the Norcross-Tift County boys game is at 8 p.m.

Here’s a look at each of the four state finalists in the high class.

BOYS

Norcross (26-5)

Norcross is going for its sixth state title in 12 years, third under coach Jesse McMillan, and first since 2013. Norcross started 10-0 and held top-25 national rankings

Basketball finals primer: Season culminates at UGA, Tech
