Alan Chadwick got his 354th victory last week. He is tied for second in Georgia history with Robert Davis. In 1985, when Marist promoted Chadwick to head coach to replace Dean Hargis, no Georgia coach had 300 wins, and only 12 had 200. Eight of those were active in 1985. Who were they? (Answer Tuesday)
Answer to Friday’s question: The two Georgia Tech alumni who are head football coaches in Georgia are Steve Davenport of South Gwinnett and Mitch Jordan of Mount Paran Christian. Both led their teams to the state quarterfinals last season (Davenport at Woodland of Stockbridge). Davenport, out of Southwest DeKalb, was a wide receiver in the 1980s. Jordan, out of Darlington, was a linebacker in the 1990s.
