Four Questions with Brookwood coach Philip Jones

Football, FourGHSF Daily asked Georgia head coaches to answer these four questions. We’ll report from a different head coach each day.

Philip Jones, Brookwood

1. What is the most memorable game you’ve been a part of as a player or coach?“As a captain my senior year at Brookwood, we went to Valdosta and beat themfor the state championship 45-24, their worst home loss in 46 years. It also happened to be Gwinnett County’s first state championship.”

2. Which high school coach would you want your son to play for, and why?“My brother Tommy Jones at Dacula, of course. Tommy cares for his players like they’re his own son, is a man of high character and integrity, operates his program in a first-class manner, and wins championships.”

3. What is your pet peeve as a coach or favorite saying/motto?“Something good is just about to happen!”

4. Which GHSA policy or high school football rule would you most like to see changed?“Add another dead week in early June to cut back on the summer rat race.”
