Note: Douglas A&M was one of 12 agricultural and mechanical schools that served Georgia from about 1908 to 1933. They offered high school diplomas and post-secondary training in agriculture, home economics and mechanical arts. Wally Butts, later the coach at the University of Georgia, led one of them, Madison A&M, from 1928 to 1931. His final team was 10-0. Some became colleges and others closed, but one evolved into a current Georgia high school. What was the Seventh District Agricultural and Mechanical School, known as Powder Springs A&M, became what is now McEachern.
