Stanley Pritchett, Arabia Mountain
1. What is the most memorable game you’ve been a part of as a player or coach? “My most memorable game was as a player my rookie season in the NFL, 1996. I started the game at fullback, the Miami Dolphins vs. the New England Patriots. Playing with Dan Marino, I had six receptions for 77 yards and some good lead blocks. We won the game, but I forget the score. [Miami won 24-10. Pritchett would play nine seasons in the NFL.] My most memorable high school game was in 2013, my first year at Arabia Mountain. We played Mays at Lakewood Stadium and beat them 32-28, and it propelled us to a 7-3 record and the first winning record in school history.”
2. Which high school coach would you want your son to play for, and why? “The coach I would want my son to play for would have to be coach Buck Godfrey because I always admired how he treated his players and how hard his team always played.”
3. What is your pet peeve as a coach or favorite saying/motto? “My favorite quote is ‘Be the energy you want to attract.'”
4. Which GHSA policy or high school football rule would you most like to see changed? “I think I agree with most coaches that something needs to be done to address the transfer rules and the movement of players to different schools every year.”
