Daily List: Teams that were unbeaten and untied in consecutive GHSA seasons

By Todd Holcomb

Creekside’s bid to go 15-0 in back-to-back was ended last week in a 21-20 loss to Hughes. It’s not any easy feat. Only 16 schools have finished unbeaten and untied in consecutive GHSA seasons. Griffin, Buford and Aquinas still have a shot at it this season. Note that only the most recent eight teams played as many as 15 games in a season.

Decatur was the FIRST to do it and the FIRST to do it in two different regions; however, Decatur, even though  they have had some great teams and stars over the ensuing years, have not won a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN FOOTBALL SINCE.  Pressure's on's been sixty four years, I'm getting old and aggravated and I can't wait much longer.
